ROTHA replaced the old Bridge 4470 over the Farmington River and reconstructed the nearby Old Farms Road and Route 10 intersection in Avon, Connecticut. The project included building a new bridge, improving the intersection with new turn lanes and roadway alignment, upgrading drainage and utilities, and completing landscaping and site improvements. The new bridge was designed without a center pier in the river, improving water flow and reducing future maintenance. Overall, the project improved safety, traffic flow, and flood resilience for the area.

East Rock Road Bridge

ROTHA restored New Haven’s historic East Rock Road Bridge by repairing and strengthening the existing steel arch structure while preserving its historic design. The project extended the life of the bridge, improved safety for vehicles and pedestrians, and maintained an important landmark connection near East Rock Park. This project is a good example of ROTHA’s ability to handle complex historic bridge rehabilitation, where preserving existing structures is just as important as improving their strength and functionality.
